STORY

ART MILESTONE:

This design was created right after drawing Capricorn

I was trying to take my art into bigger formats and realised I was trying to build Olympia muscles with 2kg plates. I needed heavy duty gear.

So I decided to make an upgrade and got the latest iPad Pro.

This would allow me to work on a bigger canvas, at a higher DPI and still manage to have a minimum amount of layers to work on.

A huge improvement with a major setback: lost all my original files (drawings) while transferring the data between devices -story for another time-

This felt like a big loss, like a really bad decision that yes, taught me big lessons, but for several weeks I wasn't even able to draw... It all felt stupid and pointless.

Until I saw that the new Deadpool & Wolverine movie was about to be released.

For me, challenges can be the perfect excuse to get back on my feet when I'm at my lowest. So I jumped into work immediately.

The new canvas resolution felt unreal, but I had no idea of what was about to happen...

Seeing this piece printed on a 310g cotton paper for the first time at 183cm tall and being THE SHARPEST quality ever? On a size that's more than 400% bigger than the standards I was able to print before was i n s a n e .

It sounds cliche, but pictures does NO justice on the impact this bad boy has in person.

The good news? This higher resolution came to stay, and you'll see it on every new piece I create from now on...
