This collection started as an effort to dive deeper into the style that fuelled me with inspiration every time I crossed my eyes on: Art Nouveau.

ART MILESTONE:

Aries was the hardest piece to start.

I sat down to work on it more times than I can count. Made ten minutes of progress. Parked it again. The burnout was painfully real - the kind that makes you question whether you still have it at all.

The outline sat untouched for weeks while life moved around it: a family trip, two weeks tattooing in Oslo, a week further north standing in meters of snow watching the northern lights.

It wasn't until I was on a plane to Amsterdam to meet my uncle, while drawing the motifs on the fabric of her dress something cracked open. I was sketching the details along her arms when I caught myself: I'd been chasing perfection instead of chasing expression. Two completely different things.

I left the sketch exactly as it was. Rough where it wanted to be rough. That small act of letting go unlocked everything that followed.

Aries isn't the most technically perfect piece in the collection but the most honest. And finishing it made finishing the rest possible and gave me a perspective shift I didn't knew I needed.
