This collection started as an effort to dive deeper into the style that fuelled me with inspiration every time I crossed my eyes on: Art Nouveau.

ART MILESTONE:

The last piece of the collection. It all started with Cancer a few years ago, as an attempt to improve my understanding of Art Nouveau as a visual language. The biggest question I kept asking myself was: "how come is Mucha's work so packed with details and yet so clean, so visually minimalistic at the same time??"

At first I thought I was just too complex for that. Too caught up in details to land a meaningful yet minimal design.

Gemini, as the culmination of the entire collection, made me realise a paradox that had been hidden from my eyes: in order to achieve a perfect balance between both sides (in this case, complexity and minimalism), you have to go through both and walk the walk. It is not possible to properly select what stays in a minimal design if you don't go through complexity in all of its forms. It is not about one "right" side versus one "wrong", but the integration of both playing as one.

It wasn't planned, but what a symbolic finish line. An entire identity collapse followed by a new one still forming. Death and birth. Two faces of the same. Old and new, what's gone and what's arriving. A full breakdown when one or the other is denied, a strong entity when they act as a whole.

I am happy to say that this piece embodies my entire journey in its shapes and areas, in an elegant and meaningful way. A bittersweet reminder of the importance of walking through both sides, and finding the bridge that connects both worlds and makes them one.
